If you'd like untagged copies to use for graphics, just drop me a comment. :)

I bought three copies of this for myself today, and I thought about scanning it, but I was too lazy to figure out the scanner at work.

Props to you. I'm sure lots of people will be appreciative of this, especially non-US Gleeks.

Crap I really want the picture of Artie, Tina, and Mercedes but I don't want to buy this. Eh, I'll just print one out from online.

What a terrible article! It's cool they got the cover of Rolling Stone and everything, but that interviewer is a dick.

Is the person who wrote this article 17? What an immature, ridiculous piece. Not even entertaining.

Now I am wondering if Lea's ass on the cover is a homage to the interviewer?

my thought exactly!

The article was poorly written, but... I don't find the questions offensive at all. They were joke questions meant to be responded by a smartass answer. I don't get why you would cry over them. Lea's "I have perfect pitch" statement bugs me. Even if you are the best, you don't say it because it can come off as snobby. Chris did the best with the interview it seems. I think he is very entertaining. Jane got a little crazy. They aren't kids... they are in their 20's. So overall, the interview was blah... but the pictures are great!
Rachhippiebanana132 on April 3rd, 2010 12:34 am (UTC)
They might not be kids, but many of them are still pretty new to this process. And however old they are, they still human beings who deserve to be treated with some respect and not slagged off after every word they say, no matter how hard they try.

That Chris part made me a little misty. I just want to hug him to pieces.

Although, I don't see why peeing in the shower is such a taboo question for them. And they kind of make Dianna and Lea out as bitchs. Grrr...

Okay, so even though I sort of admire the writing style and his word choices (besides either not knowing what a Ukelele is or not being funny with his "ook-a-lay-lay" thing), the article is rude and it seems like this guy went into the interviews expecting to hate these actors.

I feel so bad for the cast, having to sit through this garbage. Serious props to Jane though, for calling him out on it.
stellarsciencestellarscience on April 4th, 2010 09:13 am (UTC)
I agree with you. There's a difference between joking around and being rude. And the guy obviously didn't know it.

Jeez! Bitter much, writer? Thanks for the scans though--I might have accidentally bought the mag otherwise!
jaymcbjaymcb on April 2nd, 2010 11:54 pm (UTC)
First I think the guy was exaggerating about them "crying" over the question. Second this is bothering me _ Perfect pitch - Perfect Pitch is the ability of a person to be able to identify a specific note without reference to any previously sounded note. It really has nothing to so with ability to sing as much as to id notes. So don't see it as bragging just a piece of trivia.

Why didn't the guy ask Cory what he wore to bed?

I don't see why peeing in the show is a taboo question, just a stupid one.

So the cast did what they could answered what they wanted and moved on.

I'm glad this lousy writer was nice to Chris, otherwise I would be royally pissed. Not that how I feel about it matters at all, but still.

What a first class a**hole.
Morgan D.morgan_d on April 3rd, 2010 02:16 am (UTC)
Well, it seemed kinda typical of RS to me, to be honest. I was a bit torn about the whole idea of Glee on RS. Well, mainly, I was afraid for Chris (because, we agree on that, he's all that matters ^_~). I was afraid they might trash him. Then I was afraid they might label him an unimportant co-star and not interview him at all. (Apparently, that almost happened!) Then I was afraid that they would interview him and not trash him, but would somehow fail to add anything new to all we already know about him. (I love him to pieces, but he always says the same things. Sometimes in the exact same words. Which is perfectly understandable, since the cast is interviewed over and over by people who always ask the same darn questions, but it does get annoying after a while.)

It seems I got door number 3.

I find it hilarious (and very telling) that they couldn't cross the line with Chris. It just wouldn't work, because the strategy was doing the interview as high school bullies, and there comes Chris saying, "Yeah, I remember the bullies, but look who's laughing now."

It was a poor strategy, and in the end they tried to salvage what they could from the very little they accomplished. The result is disappointing, even considering it's RS.

For all the attention this cast gets, they've met very few good interviewers so far...

Lord man, this article is terribad. Just ridiculous.
Stanalaynestone on April 3rd, 2010 12:05 am (UTC)
Lol at all of these responses. It's fucking RS. It's a magazine that still thinks it is in some way relevant and for whatever reason the people they interview are expected to share a bit more than, say, if EW was interviewing them. Most of the first time interviews are this stilted, and most of the interviewers come off as absolute dicks.

This was actually a lot tamer than I thought it would be, considering I expected Lea, or at the very least Chris, to be dragged through the mud. They seem to have very particular personalities.

Wow. That's an incredibly awful article. Surprisingly, gobsmackingly awful article. I mean, what was the interviewer's angle? To discover how unwholesome the seemingly wholesome Glee kids are? Who asks questions like "do you pee in the shower?" or "do you wear a thong?"? That's not journalism. That's just fetishism. Or some other weird shit. What does it matter if Dianna kisses girls or Lea wears thongs? And whose business is that anyway? Why not ask things that are pertinent or interesting or relevant or simply not creepy?

Because I'm quite fond of Cory, I've generally followed him the most, read or watched his interviews, etc. And when Jian and George interviewed him, he was forthright and honest about his past - no, he didn't mention criminal activity or anything - but still, it couldn't have been easy, but he wasn't conning them (or, so it would seem). Why go off and paint Cory as a current con artist of sorts?

I really just don't get it. It makes me really sad that they were put through this experience just so some interviewer can get his rocks off.
Rachhippiebanana132 on April 3rd, 2010 12:31 am (UTC)
That's not journalism. - This, so much. This whole thing was so immature and unprofessional. If I were in control of that magazine, I wouldn't even print this rubbish. I've never read RS before, but if this had been a great article I probably would have started buying it. Great marketing strategies there, RS. You've probably just lost yourself a whole bunch of potential readers.

Rachhippiebanana132 on April 3rd, 2010 12:28 am (UTC)
This is genuinely the worst interview I have ever read, and so full of double standards. They want and expect the cast to act all "high school" and then actually get offended when the cast responds in a way RS deems to be "high school" in response to their own immature questions? And I'm sorry, RS reporter, do you want us to feel bad about your own "misty eyes" and hurt feelings when you have spent about six pages insulting a cast we all love and have bought your magazine to read about?

There are more things to life than being bad, horrible people. Stop digging, stop inventing dirt, and grow up and do your job properly. No interviewer should ever sit there and write, "But we don't care" about something their interviewee has said. This could have been a great article with what those cast members gave, but this interviewer ruined it.

Good for you, Jane Lynch. I actually just cheered for you.

uug.. just thinking of that interview really gives me a bad taste in my mouth -__-
aydenheadswedance on April 3rd, 2010 12:34 am (UTC)
It's Rolling Stone, the interviewers are snarky assholes. Read any other Rolling Stone article and you will understand that. I loved it, though I did think Jane would be a little more open to those kinds of questions.

Cory and Lea, never change.

I think it was kind of like a test. How would these new, young actors act to these off the wall questions. In all honesty, the way you hadle stuff like that shows a lot about you. I do wish that instead of being offended they would've just been witty or sarcastic and played along. The article would've been much more fun. I did learn stuff about them though. Glad it wasn't all "how did you get into acting" and "is this your first role".

THANK YOU!!! I was really irritated by his account of being molested at EIGHT YEARS OLD by a SIXTEEN-YEAR-OLD football player. It was like he was glamorizing his life a bit. I was ALWAYS and oddball I KINDA WANTED it. I felt like LOLITA. Oh for the love of - Arrrgh! I kind of see - KIND OF- what he means - BUT imagine what those who were traumatized by such incidents in their life would think/feel upon reading this. Maybe I'm going overboard, but I felt like Ryan - as much I respect him - really hit the wrong note here >_
